Antoine Lagadou - Interview

This time we interviewed the French rider Antoine Lagadou, who rides for Anaquda. He publish his Streetpart "YOUTUBE PURPOSE ONLY" not long ago, so I thought it would be the perfect time to do an interview with him.

Just to get the Interview started some basic questions. Where are you from? Goofy or Regular? When did you start riding?

Yo, what’s good. I’m from the South East of France, near a city named Draguignan. I’m riding regular stance.
I started riding July 2009, with an old Jdbug I got. I use to watch a lot of shit on YouTube back then and somehow I found a Coedie Donovan video. I thought it was crazy and wanted to try the same. So I built a wooden kicker with a friend in his garage and we started to jump it. Never stopped riding since then.

What was the scene like, back in the day when you started? How is it today?

Back in the day there was no skatepark around my place, I had to at least drive 1 hour to ride a good skatepark. So I use to grind the benches and jump of the side-walks to learn tricks.
I was on a scooter forum named « Trotirider » and we were planning gatherings on a special, in a chosen skatepark. Thanks to this, I met so manny people.

The scene in the South is very special: there is no tension between the riders because we kind of live far away from each other. It’s like a family and always a good time and a lot of fun.
It’s not like the other big cities like Lyon or Paris where a lot of shops, brands and pro riders are involved. I think it’s fucking up the whole riding atmosphere because when it is too much, people are talking shit over each other. That’s why I love the South, because the scene is not that big and riding with a long time friend is priceless.
Shout out to my Tds crew originally from the South, now we all are a bit spread over France, and Germany for me, but still putting in work and supporting each other

Not haveing a skatepark at the start must be hard. But glad to hear you had and still have such a small but good and supportive community of riders down in the south.
Recently you published your Edit "YOUTUBE PURPOSE ONLY" on TDS, can you tell us more about it?

This video is actually my first solo street part, I started to film it in May 2018. It was really hard at the beginning because I was still healing from the broken ligament of my ankle. But I kept filming street clips a little bit everywhere in France
I thought that Instagram in 2018 and 2019 is taking too much space in terms of scootering content. So I decided to edit my video in a way to express a message that some clips/tricks are only meant for video parts. Because they are still a thing!
My video is actually 3 small videos with 3 differents atmospheres and vibes; I wanted to create a paradox from the YouTube video part and the 1 minute long instaclips. You could considered my video as 3 instaclips added together but with tricks I put a lot more effort into.
I displayed the message « YOUTUBE PURPOSES ONLY »  between every parts as a disclaimer, and it is repetitive, so people could memorise it

I’m pretty happy how the video came out, and I’m thankful for everybody involved in this project and for the people who took time to share it.

Super intresting way to edit a video. The message came across for sure. Always hyped for people doing indipendent videos!
The last few month you also worked for Anaquda Scooters. How is it, working for a scooter company?

It’s dope! It’s a dream coming true! Actually I was doing an internship, but I will officially start to work there by the end of October.
During my studies I was always telling myself: not to work for a boring company not to do something I don’t like. Scootering is my life and I couldn’t see me going anywhere else.
Working for a scootering company makes you understand what’s going on behind the scenes, from the production process to the final customers, something that I really like!

Sounds  like a dream come true forsure. It must be super cool to be behind the scenes. Anything else you want to say? I am out of questions.

Just keep an eye open on Anaquda, lot of stuff is in the work, new riders, new products and videos.
And thank you for the interview! Always nice to see independent riders media doing something real for the sport. Thanks Austronauten!

Thank you, for taking the time for an interview.

Best Scooter Videos 2019

Here are the best Videos of 2019! Each month so many good videos were published, so it was super hard to pick just 10. And it was even harder to give them the right order. But after many hours  I managed to write down this list. Showcasing the video highlights of 2019 and representing the scootering of today. However this is just my personal opinion, let me know if you agree with me. What is your favorit Video of the Year? How would your 2019 Videolist look like? Let everyone know in the comments. I hope I did not forget any important videos. Enjoy! 10. Nate Gendron - Midnight This video is so gnarly! Gives me some shredder vibes I miss in scootering these days. Nate is a great rider, with a creativ mind. Love the raw style he has. His Talisman Part was also insane. Glad he survived the bus dropin. 9. Logan Fuller - Aztek You can tell he put 2 years into this part. Logans Aztek Video is full of Bangers, great tricks and fantastic spots. Feels like he knows every ...

Viktor Zonho - Interview
